Maryville Red Claims Plate Championship
May 02, 2009 (Knoxville, TN) - Maryville Red Boys used a nice balance of pace and aggressive rucking to claim the SMAC boys plate championship at the Tennessee RugbyPark on Saturday. Friday night Maryville outraced Powell 26-5 and then topped West 12-7 in the final on Saturday.

The young Maryville team had played progressively better throughout the season and seemed to finally put it all together just in time for the conference tournament.
